Product Information: Anionic Polyacrylamide (APAM)
Anionic Polyacrylamide, or APAM for short, is a water-soluble polymer which is identified by its white powdery texture with molecular weights ranging from six million to 25 million and its exceptional solubility in water, but insoluble in organic solvents. The pH range of effectiveness spans seven to fourteen, exhibiting high polymer electrolyte behavior in neutral and alkaline media, forming insoluble gels with high valence metal ions.
Applications:
APAM is widely utilized in wastewater treatment within the chemical industry, municipal sewage processing, tap water production, clarification of highly turbid waters, coal washing, mineral extraction, metallurgy, steel manufacturing, aluminum and zinc processing, electronics, and other water treatments.
Usage Guidelines:
1. Prepare an aqueous solution of APAM at a concentration of 0.01%-0.05%. Use neutral, salt-free water.
2. Sprinkle APAM evenly into stirred water while maintaining a stirring speed between 100-300rpm. Heating can expedite dissolution (<60°C).
3. Adjust the pH value of the treated liquid to optimize APAM's performance and select the appropriate pH value and product dosage through experimentation.
4. Introduce APAM solution gradually, increasing mixing speed until flocculation occurs, then reducing it to promote flocculation growth and sedimentation acceleration.
Note:
1. Dissolution temperature: A suitable temperature range for APAM dissolution is 50-60°C as excessive heat may cause molecular chain disruption.
2. Stirring conditions: Avoid vigorous stirring that could damage the molecular chains and reduce efficacy. Opt for low-speed impellers such as anchor, box, multi-layer blade types.
3. Uniform dispersion: The key to successful APAM dissolution lies in uniform dispersion during the addition process. Mechanical vibration sieve screening (mesh size 10 mesh) can be employed to prevent large clumps and fish eye particles.
4. Avoid contact with iron: Plastic, enamel, aluminum, stainless steel are recommended materials for the dissolution and pumping systems.
Packaging & Storage:
Each package contains 25kg of APAM (lined with plastic bag and wrapped in plastic-coated kraft paper bag).
